BOYS CLUB TRYOUTS

‘25-’26

Boys tryouts for the 2025-2026 club season have concluded, but we still have roster spots available on several of our Regional and Metro teams across all age groups.

Age Requirements

The Age Group your Son will need to register is the of your son between July 1st, 2025 and June 30th, 2026. The following exemptions apply for USAV and AAU that are made for athletes for the 2025-2026 Club Season: 

 

  • Youth Athletes (U12, U13, U14,) may play their grade AS LONG AS they have NOT played or participated in an age group higher. 
    • EX: A 6th grader who turns 13 between July 1st and June 30th may play for a 12U team as long as he has not played 13U or 14U. This applies for a athlete who is a 13U or 14U athlete. 

 

  • Juniors who turn 18 between July 1 and June 30 may play 17U volleyball. 

 

  • Athletes are encouraged to register within the age group they fall in. If an athlete ages DOWN, they can talk to the admin team on this situation on what best suits them. It is usually encouraged for that athlete to play in the class they would graduate with. Athletes who birthdates fall in the 14U age definition but are 9th graders must play 15U volleyball, or else will not be allowed to participate for a 14U team during the summer.

Tryout Fee Policy

The tryout fee is a stand alone fee and does not get applied to your team dues. If we are unable to place your athlete on a team, you will receive the tryout fee as a credit on your account to use for future programming. If you withdrawal during tryouts or decline our team offer, no refunds or credits will be issued.

FAQ ABOUT SUMMER TRYOUTS

Why Summer Tryouts?

The Academy Volleyball Club has had tremendous feedback and growth from our tryouts being conducted in July over the early fall. 

  • Our student athletes will be able to focus on fall sports instead of the pressure that is growing to get in the gym earlier and earlier. Even though tryouts begin in July, teams will not return for practice until October. 
  • By solidifying our teams earlier, this helps our families by getting better hotels, better rates, more time to set up calendars and prepare for travel events.
  • It also helps our administrative team to better serve our families by having more time to enter rosters, early registration for tournaments, order uniform packages, set up billing and more! This eliminates the short timeframe between fall tryouts and the start of tournament season. 

Will Coaches be Assigned by Summer Tryouts?

Yes! We have a great coaching staff lined up that we will start announcing in early June. We will announce it on social media as well as our website. 

Will Teams be 100% Completed in the Summer?

Our goal is to complete teams at the summer tryout.

With Most Tryouts in the Summer, When do Payments Start?

We will be offering a variety of payment options to best fit your needs. By having summer tryouts, this will allow families more time to pay dues and fees. 

What if I Can't Attend the Tryout Dates? We Will be Out of Town.

If you can’t attending the tryout dates for the summer, we encourage you to register for the the Boys Elite ID Camp the week prior. This camp is for high school boys and will be a great way for your athlete to be evaluated and meet the coaches. Athletes must be registered for this camp to be evaluated at this camp.
