2024 2024 Indy June Skills Academy

Skills Academies is a program that focuses on specific skills based on a player’s position. This gives the athlete the opportunity to heighten their skills within their preferred position. This camp allows for individual skill development, and it is designed to provide intensive instruction for players based on their positions and challenges them to train their skills from beginner to high level based on their needs. There will be two sessions of each training. The options include Serve & Serve Receive, Ball Control, Setting, and Attacking. Want to improve in all areas? Sign up for all 4! 

This program is open to girls go into 5 th - 8 th grade. 

Skill Levels:

  • Level 1: Fundamental Focus Recommended: Beginner to Moderate Players with 1 year or less of club experience
  • Level 2: High Rep Focus Recommended: Moderate to Advanced Players with 1+ year of club experience

[SERVE AND SERVE RECEIVE] June 3-4 | 10am-Noon 

Level 1: Fundamental Focus Recommended: Beginner to Moderate Players with 1 year or less of club experience Players will focus on the fundamentals of serving and passing. This camp will allow players to develop their skills in both areas and be provided with Player First Request Form Submitted by Emily McCann on 2024-01-25 7:00 PM UTC feedback by our trained coaches. Players will practice the proper techniques to ensure effective and controlled passing. This is a place to continue growth! 

Level 2: High Rep Focus Recommended: Moderate to Advanced Players with 1+ year of club experience Players are provided with the opportunity to get more touches at a higher level. The focus will be on athletic movements toward the ball, serving with power, and passing accurately often! 

 

[BALL CONTROL] June 3-4 | 1pm-3pm 

Level 1: Fundamental Focus Recommended: Beginner to Moderate Players with 1 year or less of club experience Players will work on a variety of defensive skills including positioning, individual ball control, and passing off harder hits. They will have the opportunity to enhance their skill level in the backrow. 

Level 2: High Rep Focus Recommended: Moderate to Advanced Players with 1+ year of club experience Players will have the opportunity to be challenged in their defensive skills. This will include high repetitions and making plays off hard swings while keep the ball in play.

 

[HITTING]  June 5-6 |10am-Noon 

Level 1: Fundamental Focus Recommended: Beginner to Moderate Players with 1 year or less of club experience The focus in this session will be the basics of hitting including the players approach, positioning, hand contact, and their swing. 

Level 2: High Rep Focus Recommended: Moderate to Advanced Players with 1+ year of club experience This session focuses on a review of the fundamentals and allowing them to put all of those together to get them to attack with power and placement. 

 

[SETTING] June 5-6 | 1pm-3pm 

Level 1: Fundamental Focus Recommended: Beginner to Moderate Players with 1 year or less of club experience Players will get experience using their hands and understand the basics of setting. They will have the chance to work individually, in partners, and in small groups. This will allow for skill development of all areas of setting.

Level 2: High Rep Focus Recommended: Moderate to Advanced Players with 1+ year of club experience We will revisit the fundamentals of setting and help them develop those skills that were known prior. Players will understand where the ball needs to be placed and the reasoning for that. They will enhance these skills by giving the players the most touches on the ball as we can.
